With cloud hosting – as the name suggests – applications are hosted in the cloud. More specifically, on remote servers that can be accessed and managed over the internet. Instead of relying on a single physical server or a dedicated server in a data centre, cloud hosting uses multiple servers to distribute the load and maximise uptime.

• High availability: if a server fails, another server in the network acts as a backup, so the website always remains online.
