From data experiment to structural business impact
Aveve is an established name in the Belgian agricultural and horticultural sector. With an extensive retail network and a strong online platform, the company serves both professional farmers and private garden and animal lovers. The organization combines product expertise with innovation, but at the same time saw a clear opportunity: the strategic use of customer data to achieve further growth.
Although Aveve had valuable transaction and customer data, it was not yet used in an integrated manner. Marketing worked with existing tools, but without a central customer view or scalable personalization. The ambition was clear: to increase marketing returns, deepen customer relationships and underpin investments in technology with measurable results. The question was not whether data was important, but how it could contribute to revenue growth and efficiency.
Together with competence centers Stitchd and Us, a phased process was set up that started with strategic validation and resulted in structural technological embedding.
Building the business case
Before investing in new technology, Aveve wanted certainty about the potential impact. Stitchd therefore started a targeted pilot to make the commercial added value of data-driven marketing tangible. Based on in-depth analysis of transaction data, profitable customer segments were identified. Instead of broad, generic campaigns, targeted communication was chosen tailored to concrete purchasing behavior and customer preferences.
The personalized campaigns were integrated into the existing marketing environment and rolled out via automated flows. The results left little room for interpretation. The new approach generated a 3% to 4.5% increase in revenue compared to traditional campaigns. What was previously a strategic hypothesis became a substantiated business case with direct financial impact.
From validation to scalability
With a proven business case, the next step was taken: structurally embedding data within the organization. To make personalization scalable and future-proof, Aveve chose to implement Voyado as a Customer Data Platform.
Us guided the entire implementation and ensured that data from different sources – retail, e-commerce, CRM and marketing channels – was brought together into one integrated customer view. By linking customer information to product data, a rich and activation-ready foundation was created for advanced segmentation and lifecycle marketing.
Where marketing used to be strongly campaign-driven, Aveve was now able to start from customer behavior. Decisions were no longer made based on assumptions, but on real-time insights. The organization evolved into a model in which personalization, relevance and timing are central.
