What does that mean exactly?

Digital information plays a crucial role in almost every organization today. At the same time, the risks are also increasing: cyber attacks are becoming more complex, data breaches are occurring more frequently and data protection laws and regulations are becoming increasingly strict. In that landscape, it is essential for organizations not to tackle information security ad hoc, but structurally and demonstrably.

Xplore Group recently obtained ISO 27001 certification. We recently received the official certificate. An important moment, because this certification confirms that information security within our organization is tackled structurally, thoughtfully and according to international standards. In this blog, we would like to explain what ISO 27001 entails and why it is relevant for our customers and partners.

What is ISO 27001?

ISO 27001 is an internationally recognized standard for information security. The standard describes how organizations can set up, implement, maintain, and continuously improve an Information Security Management System (ISMS).

The purpose of ISO 27001 is to systematically identify risks related to information and to take appropriate measures to protect information. This applies to both digital and non-digital information, such as personal data, business-sensitive data and internal documentation.

What does ISO 27001 certification mean?

ISO 27001 certification means that:

  • Xplore Group has a documented and implemented ISMS.
  • Risks related to information security have been explicitly mapped out and are being managed.
  • Appropriate technical, organizational and procedural security measures have been put in place.
  • An independent and accredited certification body has determined that we meet the requirements of the standard.

The certification is not a one-time exercise. Periodic audits are carried out to check whether the standard is being complied with on a permanent basis and whether improvements are being implemented structurally.

Why is ISO 27001 important?

Information is an essential part of any organization. ISO 27001 helps to protect information based on three core principles:

  • Confidentiality: information is only accessible to authorized people.
  • Integrity: information is correct, complete and reliable.
  • Availability: information is available when needed.

By focusing on these principles, ISO 27001 reduces the risk of data breaches, security incidents and operational risks.

What does this mean for our customers and partners?

Our ISO 27001 certification offers clear benefits to everyone who works with us:

  • Demonstrable and independent proof that information security is taken seriously.
  • Increased trust in the way we handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Support with compliance with laws and regulations, such as privacy and data protection requirements.
  • A solid foundation for long-term and professional collaborations.

An important milestone, not an end point

The ISO 27001 certification is an important confirmation of our way of working, but not an end goal. Information security is a continuous process that requires continuous attention, evaluation and improvement.

By obtaining the certificate, we underline our ambition to structurally embed information security within Xplore Group and to continue to invest in quality, reliability and trust.
