The story behind SPA
SPA is an established name in the Belgian market and internationally recognized as a producer of natural mineral water. The brand owes its name to the city of Spa, where water has been bottled since 1583. Over the centuries, SPA acquired a reputation for quality and purity, which is still at the heart of the brand today. As the largest water producer in Belgium, SPA continues to innovate with a diverse product range, ranging from still and sparkling water to flavored water and refreshing water lemonades.
Reason and project goal
In addition to the traditional product lines, SPA has in the past regularly produced branded gadgets and accessories, such as bibs, games, drinking bottles and dispensers. These were usually limited available through promotions or giveaways. The increasing demand from consumers for this merchandise led Spadel, the company behind SPA, to develop a structural solution: its own webshop where consumers have direct access to the full range.
What started as a pilot project immediately grew into an unexpected success after its launch. This confirmed the market potential and the importance of a central sales channel for SPA merchandise.
Strategic approach and collaboration
For the implementation, Spadel chose Shopify as a reliable and scalable e-commerce platform. The design and development process was realized in close collaboration between Spadel and competence centers Us and Meteor. Through several design rounds and an intensive co-creation process, a webshop was created that perfectly matches the brand identity: clear, modern and fully in line with SPA's visual and substantive values.
The webshop offers an intuitive customer experience, makes the purchasing process easy and strengthens brand involvement. In this way, the platform not only acts as a sales channel, but also as an extension of SPA's brand experience.
