Sioen optimizes e-commerce with new webshops and efficient data management

Sioen, a leading manufacturer of protective workwear with various sub-brands such as SIP Protection and Baleno, faced the challenge of implementing a sophisticated e-commerce strategy. With an extensive product range across multiple brands, a centralized approach for product data, webshops, and online marketing was essential. Competence centers Induxx, PHPro and Us joined forces to work on their behalf.

Efficient data centralization with Induxx

To manage the complexity, competence center Induxx initiated a project to consolidate all product information into a single source of truth via Akeneo PIM. This began with a pilot for SIP Protection and was expanded to other brands. After a thorough data cleanup and the establishment of a streamlined data flow for images and documents, SAP data was efficiently imported for enrichment and synchronization with Magento.

Implementation of new web shops with PHPro

Competence center PHPro led the development of new webshops for each brand, with flexible B2C and/or B2B components tailored to specific brand strategies. A user-friendly ordering platform was implemented for B2B customers to reduce administrative burdens and enrich product information for both online and offline use.

Umbrella strategy and analytical setup with Us

Using an umbrella strategy, the Us competence center integrated Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and developed brand-specific KPIs and automated dashboards. SEO improvements were achieved through extensive keyword planning and competitor analysis. Integration with dotdigital and Magento improved insights and supported a centralized customer overview across all brands.

Results and future growth

Thanks to Akeneo PIM, Sioen achieved centralized product data management, resulting in increased visitor numbers and more active dealers. The automation reduced back-office pressure and supported dealers with comprehensive product information for their own platforms. The flexibility of the new system accelerates time-to-market for new brand extensions, supported by customized SAP import processes and automated product image integration.
