Better viewing experience with VRT NU

Linear TV reach is changing. To respond more efficiently to the viewer’s need for live streaming and video on demand, Xplore Group developed a solution for VRT NU, based on Adobe Experience Manager.

VRT NU is the online streaming service of Flemish public broadcaster VRT. Its offer consists of an online video catalogue, including live TV and video on demand, available through a website, mobile apps (iOS and Android), Chromecast and AirPlay.

VRT’s mission is to inform, inspire and connect. In the digital age, however, linear TV reach is making way for streaming and video on demand. In order to fulfill the broadcaster’s mission in this new context, VRT is going through a transformation process: from a content-centric to a user-centric approach.

VRT NU’s video offer is no longer regarded as a linear programming subset. Based on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Xplore Group converted all VRT NU content into AEM assets. The tool automatically generates season, program and episode pages and allows for automated publication to the site and the apps.

Over 1.7 million registered users enjoy a personalized experience on a stable and available platform. On average, 240,000 videos are watched every day. Meanwhile, VRT NWS (news) and Sporza (sports) migrated to Adobe Experience Manager as well, enabling an even more efficient exchange of video content.
