Childhome is a Belgian manufacturer of baby and toddler products. With 35 years of experience, they sell their products in over 60 countries worldwide and have won prestigious international awards multiple times. So, a good website, catering to both B2C and B2B, was essential.
Competence center eWings took on the project and developed a multi-site solution. Both the B2C webshop and the B2B ordering portal were integrated into the same environment. While preserving the original look and feel of the website, the entire site transitioned from Magento 1 to Magento 2, resulting in an improved shopping experience and increased visitor traffic.
The website was divided into two parts: a webshop for retail customers and a B2B e-shop for distributors. With the B2B ordering portal, existing professional customers are able to explore the complete product range and efficiently place orders using features such as quick orders, re-orders, the option for dropshipping with automatically adjusted pricing, etc.
On the B2C webshop, Childhome focuses on providing a pleasant shopping experience. This includes comprehensive product information, suggesting alternatives, displaying related products (such as a slatted base for the bed or playpen protection and blankets from the same collection, etc.). Not only does this make online shopping easier and more enjoyable for the customer (as they no longer have to separately search for all items and worry about compatibility) but it also ensures that Childhome sells more.
Childhome needed a partner to assist them in transitioning from Magento 1 to Magento 2 as their e-commerce platform.
eWings executed an extensive integration project, establishing all necessary connections to Magento from the PIM system (for product data), ERP (for all customer information), and Mailchimp (for marketing automation).

After transitioning to a multi-site in Magento 2, the webshop immediately received a significantly higher number of visitors. eWings maintained the same trusted look and feel of the website, but the shopping experience for both B2B and B2C greatly improved thanks to more information, relevant recommendations, and a more efficient purchasing process.
