Step one is capturing data: check.

Step two is determining what to do with that data. And there are a lot of possibilities there.

On the one hand, you can use the data internally to improve your operations. For example: optimising production processes with the help of machine learning, product enrichment with the right software, setting up automations, improving the customer experience, offering extra services … In other words, you share your data with marketing, HR, procurement, sales, operations or other departments, and they use it.

On the other hand, you can also choose to offer the data externally via data-as-a-service (DaaS) or insights-as-a-service (IaaS), but for that you obviously need the right kind of data.
